How tuition works

We go through the figures with you at your first class. Here is what sets them and how it all works.

  • Tuition is set by the program (adults or kids), by how many classes a week you take and by whether you train Gi, No-Gi or both. We go through the current figures at your first class, in writing, before you agree to anything.

    • Adults or kids

    • Classes a week

    • Gi, No-Gi or both

  • Registration

A joining fee, when we charge one, covers your enrollment file and your first Gi and belt. It is due when you sign up, and we give you the amount in writing.

  • Holding a place

A place in a kids' class is held once your first month is set up. Kids' classes are up to 10 students. When a class is full you join its waitlist, and we offer places by text in the order families asked.

  • Billing

Monthly, collected automatically on the day you choose. To change a card or a day, send the front desk a message.

  • Siblings

A family plan puts two or more people from one household under one agreement and one monthly bill. Each person trains in their own classes. Ask us how it works for your household.

  • Adult plans start with three months, then run month to month. Kids' plans are month to month. To cancel, write to us with 30 days' notice, by email or at the front desk. The month in progress is billed. We can pause a plan for travel, an injury or a new baby, so ask before you go.

  • Missed classes and make-ups

If you miss a class, come to another class at your level the same week. There is nothing to book. If you need a longer break, tell the front desk and we will pause your plan.

  • Gi, belts and other costs

A Gi, a rash guard and a belt are separate costs, and each is listed at the front desk with what it is for. A Gi to borrow for your first classes is at the desk. Ask which pieces you need before you buy.

    • A Gi and belt

    • Rash guards for No-Gi

    • Promotion belts as you move up
